The power struggle develops between female dogs - the worst thing you can do is to bring home females of the same age, writes dog behavior specialist Eliise Valmis.
You have to take into account your dog's character, trust with you, how well he has been trained, how he treats other dogs in general, whether he has had negative interactions with dogs in the past, whether the current dog is female or male, and what the age difference would be between them.
If your dog does not tolerate other dogs on the street, start with training to remove reactivity and socialize him so that he is able to play with others in the dog park, for example. If your dog is a female, it is better to take a male aside and vice versa in the same way.
