As for the whole daily routine, I always ask the owner first what the kitty's day looks like, so that it is as habitual as possible. This definitely includes following a wake-up/bedtime routine, walks, and meal plan. Since I am constantly with the foster dog, he will probably get even more exercise than usual when he is kept with me, which is why you will get back a very tired but adventure-enriched four-legged friend :)

Only one dog stays at my shelter at a time, unless there are several dogs from the same family or already familiar dogs have been brought to the shelter together. This information always comes from the owner if there is a desire to bring your own dog together with someone else's dog.

Since I only foster one dog at a time, all fosters stay with me in my own house. The house comes with a yard, which is fenced. This means that whenever the weather permits, we spend playtime in the safety of our yard. There are only Nõmme forest hiking trails around, so walks in nature are quiet and enriched with interesting new smells that tire every dog ​​by the end of the day. There are no children at home and everyday life is rather quiet in order to offer even the most anxious dog a peaceful environment and sleep.

I ensure the dog's safety both physically and mentally. Before bringing a dog to the shelter, I always ask first if the dog has any idiosyncrasies that I need to take into account. This can be information about food and behavior as well as allergies. For example, if a dog is afraid of cyclists or is reactive towards other dogs, I take this into account during walks. Being a coach myself, I know how to adequately assess situations in order to avoid certain situations with a certain approach. I also ensure safety even when I am in the room, i.e. before storage, I do a complete inspection of the home, so that nothing is floating on the floor, etc. The dog stays only on the first floor while in storage.

Absolutely. Before keeping, I ask the owner to write down the necessary feeding plan and everything that goes with it (adding vegetables to dry food, giving food at certain times, other snacks, etc.) in order to follow it. If the dog needs medication, that's no problem either.

In my journey, I would have very much integrated the enrichment of the environment in my training as well as in my research, which is why I also apply it in storage. This is especially true for anxious dogs, as it calms them down and provides mental activity. This includes, for example, looking for treats, using interactive toys, exercise, etc.
